If I Were a Boy?...

After viewing the "If I were a boy" video by Beyonce, I wondered if us ladies got a chance to be a boy for one day and switch roles with our boyfriend's what kind of a man would we be? Would we really be a better man than they are? Honestly if I got to be a man for one day I would want to experience all the perks they get including being carefree in all I do. I wouldn't want any responsibility for once in my life and just have as much fun as I can. But that's just me. What would you do if you had that chance for one day? (be honest lol)

Pick up lines

I'm on my way to work and some guy approaches me and says "Wow baby your feet must be tired" I look at him puzzled. I figured he said this because I was in heels. But then my puzzled look turned into laughter when he continued and said "Because you've been walking through my mind all day!" Definitely a WTF moment for me. Was he serious? Do those pick up lines really work? I mean what ever happened to a man introducing himself and just saying "Hi I think you're beautiful and though you do not know me, I would like to get to know you". You know, something honest and straight to the point. I bet those lines actually do work once every millionth time. Why else would men continue to use them. Sigh...

I am setting aside the female issues today as Thanksgiving is rolling around. I would like to say what I m thankful for. I'm thankful for my family and friends who are always there to hold me down. I am thankful for my boyfriend. We have been together for almost 5 years (officially 5 years in January) and I am thankful for our relationship and keeping it together through good and bad times. I am thankful that I have a home to go to and a bed to sleep in every night. I am also thankful for my health and that God has blessed me abundantly. Lastly I am thankful for our new president elect. It's about time... What are you thankful for?

Leggings Gone Wrong...

So I'm walking from class (I just got out of an exam...hope I pass :-/) Anyways I go to school in the north so you know in November its freezing over here. Each step I take I'm cursing myself for deciding to wear my leather jacket that has no type of insulation. I'm thinking to myself "damn I need a winter coat fast". So as I'm thinking I look up and there is this girl walking in front of me wearing nothing but brown leggings and a t-shirt. Not the type of t-shirts that are long that might actually go with the leggings...she's wearing a short graphic T that was not covering up her booty and red thong that I could clearly see through her leggings! Now that I think of it...they might have been stockings because they were just transparent to the point where I could count the dimples in her hips... Um... I'm no fashion expert but I know thats just not right. I'm so tired of seeing girls looking a mess in the street thinking the tighter the better. LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS no matter how many different colors and patterns they come in. It was cool when sweater dresses and tunics came out and girls wore the leggings under them but each month those sweaters and tunics just get shorter and shorter! We have got to stop the madness! Its just not cute...sigh...

This is a little random thought of mine that I wrote a while ago and I would like you all to speak on it:

Where have the times gone? I mean... where have the GOOD times gone?

What happened to spending all night talking on the phone without letting a single minute pass by without something to say?

What happened to writing his/her name on the desk or notebook without even realizing it?

What happened to holding each other without ever wanting to let go?

What happened to that look of love that you got every time our eyes met?

What happened to saying I LOVE YOU every five minutes and not once getting tired of hearing it?

What happened to being content just by the sound of my breath?

What happened? Life happened...

As time went by the conversations on the phone turned into silence. Writing each other's name became silly. The hugs became shorter and meaningless. Your eyes stopped looking at me long enough to get that feeling. We understood our love for each other so it was said once in a while. And listening to me breathe became pointless.

It is ALWAYS beautiful in the beginning. So much to say, so much passion and interest. So new and fresh. Don't let your love die. As beautiful as it was, work hard to keep it that way or you will be left asking yourself "what happened"...
